Transplant Palms and Citrus Care

August is a good time to transplant your Palm Trees and Bermuda Grass. The soil temp is warm and the root systems will thrive. Don't forget to stake them down-protect them from the wind.. Your other plants will have to wait for cooler weather to be moved.

It might be time to start thinking about fertilizer. Really now through October is a good time to fetilize trees. I suggest you fertilize 3 times a year. Once in the early spring (Feb), then in Spring (May) and then again in the fall (aug-Oct). Apply Nitrogen to your fall ripening trees (oranges and tangerines).

August is a great time to plant one more crop of quick growing vegetables like radishes.
Enjoy the summer.

  1. Glad to know August is a good time to put in Bermuda grass. My lawn did not hold up very well over this summer so I'm thinking of ordering fresh new Phoenix sod from Evergreen Turf, a local sod farm in Arizona.
