October Trick or Treat

Fall is a great time to plant trees and shrubs. May be a little late for vegetables. Planting in the fall helps avoid "transplant shock." Planting in the fall will give plants time to set down a good root system. Then in the spring they'll begin to grow roots again before it gets hot.

Its bound to get cold soon. So don't prune too much of the branches. After the leaves fall you can look for damage or structural issues. If the weather is warm you can still fertilize your tree as they will still take up water. Also, this is the last month to fertilize fruit trees. I recommend Feb, May, Aug and Oct.

Enjoy the fall weather and let me know if I can help care for your trees.
